The Urban Research Plaza (URP) is a research center established in 2006. URP, unlike conventional research centers, is a "mobile" and "open" organization. It organizes ongoing research projects and meetings both within its facilities and out in the field, to address local and global urban issues and develop joint activities with both local residents and various organizations. In that sense, URP is a "plaza" or networking arena for urban studies.
