Faculty of Business established Department of Public Management
From 1 April 2018 the OCU Faculty of Business will consist of two departments: the Department of Business and the Department of Public Management. The newly established Department of Public Management will offer students an opportunity to study the management of non-profit organizations, public institutions, local business and corporate social responsibility.
Just as in the Department of Business, students of the Department of Public Management will primarily be studying business and management, but in the Department of Public Management ‘Sociality’ and ‘Locality’ will form the central theme throughout the course.
Although the Faculty will have two different departments, the departments will not be completely separate from each other. In the first year and a half of their studies, students will not yet belong to a department and will be studying basic business subjects such as management, economics and accounting. From the second semester of the second year, students will choose a department and start studying subjects in their field of specialization, but it will still be possible for them to study the subjects of each department in parallel. More than anything, the two departments are intended to complement each other and will be jointly organized within the Faculty of Business. That means that no matter which department students belong to, they all will obtain a thorough knowledge of management, business and accountancy as students of the Faculty of Business.
