Opening reception of OCU Bangkok Office
On 3 March 2016 OCU celebrated the opening of its OCU Bangkok Office, located inside the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of Chulalongkorn University, with a reception party. OCU President Yoshiki Nishizawa and Global Exchange Office Director Shin Nakagawa travelled to Bangkok to host the reception on behalf of OCU. Among the invited guests were Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts Dean Suppakorn Disatapundhu, representatives from OCU’s other Thai partner universities, OCU alumni who are living in Thailand and speakers of the 14th Urban Research Plaza Forum which was held on the same day. The reception was held with the aim to emphasize the importance of the OCU network in Thailand in realizing international academic exchange projects. With that same aim in mind, OCU appointed three Global Exchange Advisers from among its alumni in Thailand. They were awarded with a Certificate of Appointment during the reception. ?
Chulalongkorn University, the most famous university in Thailand, and OCU have had a strong relationship since 2002. In 2013 the two universities signed a university-wide agreement for academic cooperation. The OCU Bangkok Office, which already started its activities in April of 2015, aims to provide a central base for organizing and supporting academic exchange activities, the recruitment of high caliber international students, university-industry collaboration projects and its alumni network.
